We are looking for a talented Offshore Project Director specializing in naval/offshore Engineering preferably with sound knowledge in any of the following: offshore renewable energy, marine infrastructure projects, and industrial project management.
As part of our company, you will take the specific role of Project Director, for our major marine energy project. This position focuses on leading our project technical team to deliver a first-of-a-kind project in step with several subcontractors, service providers and clients. As a project lead, objectives, and team organization are determined by you as a specialist in marine engineering. This is a dynamic role that will require not only a broad technical understanding of process-type projects but also a willingness to work differently and innovatively.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall management, planning, and design of the associated R&D project and team.
Review and preparation of the conceptual design, simulation, and implementation.
Design and develop both technical and non-technical plans and reports.
Coordinate the team’s commissioning and decommissioning of devices.
Organize, lead, and effectively make recommendations for the progress of the leading project
Perform risk analysis of the different parts of the project to minimize the probability of failure and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans.
Guide the development of test protocols in projects.
Maintain knowledge of current wave energy and offshore/renewable technology developments
Lead dialogue with clients/suppliers (internal and external) and foster long-lasting relationships. (Must communicate technical issues to non-engineers and clients)
Consistent travel liaison between Las Palmas and the Netherlands
Requirements (Must have)
Master’s degree or higher in naval/civil/marine/ocean engineering or related field.
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in naval/offshore engineering
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project management
Experience in the design and testing of marine systems (hardware), managing complex projects
Proven experience with hardware documentation, leading cross-functional teams and provider management, with a focus on manufacturing and deployment projects
Experience in creating strong relationships/contact with suppliers and clients.
Sound knowledge of industry regulations and standards
High-level leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
Deep understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
Advanced English, oral and written: minimum C1. (+Fluent/Native Spanish)
Semiyearly(6mo) residence/ willingness to relocate to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria*
